Rougelikes and Hacking

Rougelikes are basically top-down,random based, RPGs(not the gun) where the controls are text based and the game is featured with ASCII(text symbols) graphics.Rougelikes are also famous for being REALLY HARD Above is a screen-shot of Nethack. The best RPG ever and the most misleading title. Your objective is to get the Amulet of Yendor from the lowest level of the dungeon and bring it back up. On your way youll deal with hunger,creatuers,traps, and puzzles. The character system is great(class,gender,religion) and you never cease being bombarded during gameplay with new weapons,polymorphisms, and pets. This is a truly interactive experience. Especially since its free. Everyone should try this but most will be drawn away by its graphics and controls(nearly every key on the keyboard has an action). Its an OR. Tell me if u beat it on your first try. Then Ill congratulates you.

Step Up or sit down(it doesnt matter)

Remember the stepfiles I was talking about in "FFR cont."? Well this is where they come in handy. Stepmania is almost an exact copy of DDR. Only free and for the PC. You can either use the arrow keys or connect your own dance pad to your PC to play this. You can download diffrent themes and everything. THe only really bad thing about this is that you have to download your own stepfiles to play with. THe site has its own share and the FFR website has its own stepfiles so you'll download a lot. There are mods to make the arrows go awkward directions,multiplayer, and you can even create your own songs. This game is a YES. If you have a dance pad(why?) and its for your PC you'll have fun.

This game is HARD

Not counting rougelikes(I'll explain later) this is probably the hardest game I've ever played.This is I Wanna Be The Guy.You play "The Kid" who is on a quest to kill "The Guy". Simple plot but big game. There are also many enemies from old games(Mike Tyson is a boss). And numerous traps that will destroy you. The traps range from giant homing cherries,the moon,Link, and even flying spikes. THis game doesn't like you. When you die your character explodes into a glorious bloody explosion of gore. The controls are the arrow keys, Z to shoot and SHIFT to jump. Thats it.Some people will like t for he difficulty while others will hate it for its annoying length and difficulty.Then again it is free I recommend watching youtube vids on it first then at least try it. This is a definite OR.

FFR cont....

I felt incomplete after my other post "There are no flashes in this game" so here I am lengthening it. 1st of all The community is pretty active. T-shirts and tournaments ,like your old high school, and online play. I recommend making an account. 1, for bragging rights and 2, for the sheer awesomeness FFR is. They even have other games(that are not as good but still are fun). Now seriously the community is awesome! The newest game(FFR 3 :Resonance) was awesome till he took it of air. But simfiles of songs to dowload are great additions(Ill talk about that later). Plus multi-categories. That is all I have to say. HERE is the site and 1mxw2 is my account. Run Dino Run!

The name(and screen) describes this game. This is the pixelated greatness that is part of Pixeljam. Even though the game is like this its more of an art-style. This game is simple. Running with the arrow keys and boosting with shift, to cross 7 slowly incinerating environments. After you master those. You can use your collectibles you've earned to get bonus content like more levels,wallpapers and more. It does get a little repetitive after you beat it and the speed runs are sometimes freakin' hard! But I ignore it. Its a nice pixelated experience. Which includes online multiplayer. This a YES.

There are no flashes in this game

Flash Flash Revolution(say that fast 5 times). Imagine Dance Dance revolution with the keyboard. This is what you get. FFR is a nice music game where you push the arrow keys according to the screen. Its my somewhat-obsession. The difficulty ranges from Baby to seizure. With a nice variety of songs FFR will never keep you bored. Unless you're one of those people who are horrible with timing and don't like music. The songs range from Legend of Zelda Remix to Flight of the Bumblebees. I dont listen to music and even I like it. The only problem is that it gets a little frustrating and self-esteem lowering but, who doesnt like being beaten senseless by a game(don't answer that).This game is a Straight YES!
